Request For Enhancements : Mozilla Europe Site

"About" pages

The About pages could be improved, ideas stolen from Mozilla Japan website:

  • We should have a sub-page listing all the events we participate in, as well as Mozilla related events in europe like here: Mozilla Japan events
  • We could have a sub page for corporate membership/sponsoring so as to separate it clearly from end-users. Mozilla Japan even puts a PDF membership form for subscription
  • We could list press articles about us and our products like Mozilla Japan press articles
  • We probably should have a Partnership page listing our partenerships with organizations helping us speaing the products (like Jet Multimedia who gives us free hosting, companies lending us hardware for tradeshows...)

Start page, Firefox Central

  • the "tip of the day" blurb on the google/firefox page could be used to promote mozilla communities
  • Firefox Central should also promote end-user support by community portals, at least more visibly

Press page

  • we should put some material at press disposal for their articles like screenshots of the products, icons, pictures of events...
  • we probably should have presentations in PDF, I have PDF products fact sheets of both thunderbird and firefox made by Rafael Ebron, we should have something equivalent but translated

General look

The general look of our pages is too textual and does not promote our products I think. We could vastly improve the looks of the site and promote our products with small changes to our CSS file and very limited changes to our current markup.

I already made a mockup of chat I think could improve things :

Apart from a couple of image tags added to the xhtml, all changes were done with CSS.

Logo and image

Mozilla Europe should have it's own visual identity and logo (based on the official one). Currently, nothuing distingues us from Mozilla.org.

See bug 26-

Each product section should have the corresponding product favicon

Languages

When en-GB builds are available for the EN version, we should replace the links to American builds by British ones.
